In an increasingly secular Europe, many religious spaces are losing their original function as places of worship. At the Kerkvernieuwers, we work with local governments and religious communities to find a new way to use these spaces in a meaningful way while building bridges between religious and secular communities.

With experience from community engagement projects in the Netherlands, we would like to engage the discussion internationally, to talk about similar projects and experiences with peers. Together with the Bosch Alumni Network and the Impact Field Spirituality, Religion and Society, we, therefore, organise our first international Meet-Up on April 14th, from 16.00 - 17.30 hrs CET!
At this meet-up, we will discuss examples of re-use and community engagement projects concerning (former) religious spaces, with Sander Ummelen (De Kerkvernieuwers) and Danielle O'Donovan (Nano Nagle Place Cork, Ireland). Participants will have the chance to share their own experiences and examples during the session as well.
